A lot of discussion and criticism took place after UFC color commentator Joe Rogan was recorded talking about Jose Aldo at UFC 194. Rogan thought his mic was off and was heard talking about Aldo’s physique with a friend in the UFC’s production. Rogan was heard saying that Aldo looked soft and deflated, and discussed it further on his podcast with former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub. Many also felt Rogan disrespected Aldo after his loss by saying that he didn’t want to see Aldo in an immediate rematch with Conor McGregor.

A quick tweet from UFC Tonight revealed that UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem will be looking to see what the market has to offer him after completing his UFC contract. Alistair Overeem plans on fighting out the last bout on his UFC contract and testing the free agent market (Per @arielhelwani)

The UFC announced an exciting light heavyweight match set for UFC 196 on Saturday, Feb. 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ovince Saint Preux and Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante are scheduled to battle it out in the Octagon on the card featuring the rematch between Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez for the UFC heavyweight championship belt.

At UFC 194 UFC commentator Joe Rogan caught some fire for comments he made when he believed his microphone was muted, when in reality it wasn’t. Rogan stated that Aldo looked ‘deflated’ and ‘soft;. Following the bout, Rogan and Brendan Schaub spoke on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast to discuss Aldo’s physique, where Rogan pointed out that Aldo managed to get out of 2 random drug tests.

Both Rashad Evans and Shogun Rua are legends in the sport of MMA who have fought practically every top ranked fighter in their weight class. With that being said, they have yet to fight each other. The pair was slated to fight back at UFC 128 for the UFC light heavyweight championship, but Evans was forced out of the fight. Now, according to Ariel Helwani who spoke on UFC Tonight, after Shogun recovers from shoulder surgery Evans wants the pair to finally square off.

Nate Diaz hasn’t been inside the Octagon in over a year, however this Saturday he will make his return at UFC on FOX 17 against #6 ranked Michael Johnson. While Diaz hasn’t fought frequently since 2013, he is now committed to climbing the lightweight rankings and pursuing a title shot.

Prior to UFC 194, UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum revealed that Conor McGregor’s manager reached out to Kings MMA to ask if McGregor could train there. McGregor ultimately won the fight via KO in just 13 seconds to claim the UFC featherweight championship. Now, McGregor’s manager has refuted Werdum’s claims that McGregor ever tried to train at Kings MMA, insisting that ‘Notorious’ keeps his circle small and only trains under John Kavanagh.
