The feud between UFC flyweight Ian ‘Uncle Creepy’ McCall and the guys over at Team Alpha Male is sort of like a camp-fire you just can’t put out, no matter how many times you douse it with water and throw dirt on it. It just keeps reigniting. The back and forth started when McCall spoke in an interview and called the fighters of TAM a bunch of frat boys who walk around with their shirts off and do chest bumps. Members of the Sacramento, CA fight team didn’t take kindly to the comments and plenty of them spoke their desire to fight McCall in the cage, including current bantamweight Cody ‘No Love’ Garbrandt.

[A Rousey fight by the end of the year] is our common goal, but we have to do it in a way that is beneficial to both of us.” … “The fight in July is definitely going to be at 145. We need to do it right. She’ll cut two to three pounds by summer, maybe she’ll make 135 in the fall and then we fight Ronda at the end of the year. Anderson works hard, he came from humble origins. I don’t know what happened. But I tell you that Anderson would never take that in a dirty way. He would never use anything. We are all really sad. He’s the biggest MMA athlete of all times. He’s a correct man, would never do anything to have an advantage. He’s pure talent, he doesn’t need that,” he said. “I know he was taking some medication, corticoid. I don’t know which substance. I don’t believe he was taking medication to have an advantage. Maybe there was a problem with that, if that existed, some corticoid, something that contained a prohibited substance. That’s what I believe. “That’s not who he is. He’s an athlete that came from humble origins, who loves to train, a really disciplined athlete inside and outside the Octagon. He has a whole team behind him. He would never do anything to damage himself, to destroy everything he built for many years.”

Like somebody on my Twitter the other day, somebody tweeted (that) I’ve fought eight people that have been associated with TRT at some point and time in their career, and I’ve lost to several of them, and so you start thinking about those kinds of things. The UFC today applauded the State of Victoria Labor Government for executing a ministerial directive designed to increase safety within the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) by allowing the sport to be conducted in a much safer fenced-in enclosure. The directive was announced this morning at a press conference held by The Honourable John Eren, Minister for Sport, Tourism and Major Events. “This is a major milestone for mixed martial arts in Victoria, which will allow the sport to flourish while at the same time better protecting its competing athletes,” said Tom Wright, UFC Executive Vice-President and General Manager, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
