The only reason we’re able to do this sport is that the level of human potential is just [low] enough that we can barely allow it. We’re right at the threshold. “It’s not like we’re getting to the point where it’s, ‘Oh, we’re going to start to have higher world records for weight lifting.’ No. We’re going to be able to hurt each other more. That’s what I’m worried about. I’m worried that this is going to keep escalating and escalating and escalating until somebody dies.”

BJPENN.com’s Chris Taylor has confirmed with Colorado Boxing Commission Director Josef Mason that no random drug testing was done on any of the fighters participating in this weekend’s ‘UFC Fight Night 60’ event. The Valentine’s Day event takes place live this Saturday night from the 1STBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.

That’s what happens when you use steroids. So yeah, it’s going to get worse before it gets better.” … “I’m honestly surprised it hasn’t happened yet. If you look at the number of athletes using and some of the fantastic finishes. It doesn’t even have to be a horrible injury. It can just be a knockout and the guy comes in and tests positive. That in itself. That guy just got a serious amount of damage done to his brain done by a dude who is using steroids. We’re not putting balls in holes. We’re not playing golf. We’re not playing basketball. We’re not hitting balls out of a park. We’re hitting each other in the head and then we have guys using anabolic steroids and testosterone and HGH.”

A trilogy bout between Alexis Davis and Sarah Kaufman has been booked for April’s UFC 186 event in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. UFC officials announced the women’s bantamweight booking earlier today.

“The UFC has been notified by the Nevada State Athletic Commission that UFC welterweight Hector Lombard has tested positive for a banned substance following his fight at ‘UFC 182: Jones vs. Cormier’ on Jan. 3, 2015 in Las Vegas,” the UFC’s statement reads. “The UFC has a strict, consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents by our athletes. As a result of his positive test, Lombard has been informed that he has violated the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy and Promotional Agreement with Zuffa, LLC. The UFC will cooperate with the commission on the matter and fully supports Lombard’s right to a due process hearing before the commission.”

Earlier today we reported that UFC welterweight contender Hector Lombard had failed his UFC 182 drug test for anabolic steroids. With the news, Lombard was pulled from his scheduled UFC 186 co-main event bout with Rory MacDonald by UFC officials.
