A lightweight tilt between Alex Oliveira (13-2-1 MMA) and Piotr Hallmann (15-5 MMA) took place during the main card of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 77 event in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Alex Oliveira was able to dominate the first round by using some fine footwork and solid striking to keep Hallmann at bay.

A lightweight bout between Gilbert Burns (10-1 MMA) and Rashid Magomedov (20-1 MMA) was the second fight featured on this evenings main card. Rashid Magomedov utilized some good footwork and solid striking to defeat the previously undefeated Gilbert Burns via judges decision.

A light heavyweight bout between Fabio Maldonado (22-8 MMA) and Corey Anderson (6-1 MMA) kicked off tonight’s UFC Fight Night 77 main card in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Corey Anderson was able to get Maldonado to the floor early on in round one. The TUF 19 winner moved to half guard and started landing some solid ground and pound. After eating some elbows, Maldonado managed to pull off a sweep and return to his feet. Anderson was able to land some solid jabs while Maldonado scored with shots to the body. Anderson scored a late takedown and worked some more ground and pound to end round one.

In the main event of the televised preliminary card, UFC veteran Gleison Tibau picked up yet another submission win as he secured a 1st round submission win over Abel Trujillo. On to the Fox Sports 1 main card!

It was an extremely quick one, but it was quite impressive! Clay Guida started off quick as many expected, immediately shooting for a double leg takedown.

The UFC Fight Night 77 televised prelims are off to a fast start as Chas Skelly secured a 2nd round rear naked choke win over Kevin Souza. In the 1st round Skelly got a quick takedown and landed some nice ground and pound. Souza escaped to his feet and was able to land some heavy shots. Skelly was dropped towards the end of the round, but survived.

A welterweight bout between Viscardi Andrade (18-6 MMA) and Gasan Umalatov (15-5-1 MMA) rounded up the UFC Fight Pass portion of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 77 event in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Round one was not very eventful, as both me struggled to get comfortable and find their range. Andrade landed the better strikes, as the powerful Russian struggled to land his respective punches.

The second bout of the evening featured a bantamweight showdown between Pedro Munhoz (11-2 MMA) and Jimmie Rivera (18-1 MMA). Jimmie Rivera had a three inch reach advantage on Pedro Munhoz and it showed early in round 1. Rivera was able to land punches consistently for the first four minutes of the round before Munhoz began to slowly find his range. Munhoz landed a big knee towards the end of the round but Rivera seemed ok and the bell sounded.

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is currently engaged in a legal battle that will decide whether or not the MMA legend will be forced to remain in his contract with Bellator MMA, or return to the UFC. Because of the legal battle, many were surprised to discover that Rampage was in attendance at Bellator 145 last night.

As Valerie Letourneau prepares for the biggest bout of her MMA career on November 14th against Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the UFC women’s strawweight championship, she knows she will be unable to have her longtime cornerman Hector Lombard in her corner. Lombard is currently suspended by the NSAC, which has resulted in Letourneau being unable to have Lombard corner her.
