While Anderson Silva may still be interested in ‘Super Fights’, particularly if he is able to defeat Chris Weidman in their end-of-year rematch at UFC 168, that’s apparently the last thing on the mind of UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones.

Vitor Belfort (23-10 MMA, 12-6 UFC) may still have Chael Sonnen in his sights, but “The Phenom” is already widening his search for potential opponents, this according to his wife and manager, Joana Prado. She spoke to SporTV recently and mentioned that should a fight with Sonnen fail to materialize, Belfort’s second option would be a rematch against former multi-division Pride champ Dan Henderson (29-9 MMA, 6-3 UFC). Belfort and Henderson originally squared off at Pride 32 in 2006, with “Hendo” scoring a unanimous decision victory. After the fight, Vitor would test positive for elevated levels of testosterone.

Silva still hoping for super fights with Jones and GSP

Prior to his bout with Chris Weidman at UFC 162, Anderson “The Spider” Silva (33-5 MMA, 16-1 UFC) was expected to be involved in at least one ‘Super Fight’ with either light heavyweight champion Jon Jones or welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. However, that was predicated on Anderson defeating Weidman, which we all know did not end being the case. Silva though still believes super fights can happen for him, although he does remain focused on his rematch with Weidman, as he stated during a radio interview to “Panico”, on Friday:

Over the weekend Nova Uniao founder and Jose Aldo head coach, Andre Pederneiras, went on a Brazilian radio show and pretty much dissed top UFC lightweight contender, Anthony Pettis, for backing out of what should have been the main event last weekend. “In my opinion, [Pettis] never got hurt,” Pederneiras stated. “He realized he’d never make weight (at 145 pounds), that it wasn’t as easy as he thought it would be.”

UFC officials recently announced that a bantamweight bout between Roland Delorme (9-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) and Alex Caceres (8-5 MMA, 3-3 UFC) will serve as the 13th match-up for UFC 165 in Toronto this September. Roland Delorme is coming off a thrilling unanimous decision win over Edwin Figueroa, which took place in the Canadians hometown of Winnipeg at UFC 161. Prior to that, “The Ultimate Fighter Season 14” member scored submission victories over Josh Ferguson and Nick Denis while inside the octagon.
