Chris Weidman Confident He Will Expose Anderson Silva
BJPENN.COM News - July 2, 2013
“The only reason I got into this sport was to be number one and right away I had to envision beating this guy if I was gonna do it. I believed I could beat Anderson Silva from day one. I believe I have the skill set to do it, I have the wrestling — which he’s been exposed on — and I could add the jiu-jitsu that I’ve competed on a world-class level with. I bring a lot to the table, I’m very confident. It’s a huge opportunity and I’m going to make the best of it.”

If you all want my opinion, and I assume the reason why you called is because you want my opinion. My opinion is this young gentlemen, from what I’ve heard is a real nice young man. I can see he’s very good on the ground. He’s got grappling skills, great take downs, great guillotine, great arm triangle stuff like that, very good. That’s kind of what I can say about him. I think he’s very strong and good at all that stuff.

Rousey Says Emotions Not Sex Fueling TUF Mix-Gender Season
BJPENN.COM News - July 1, 2013
“The talent is great. I’m really impressed with the kind of people that we saw on the show this season for the girls and the guys. All of the fights have been really exciting. Really, it has exceeded my expectations. Surprisingly, it is much more professional than you would have thought. I wouldn’t say it’s an overly sexual season, but I think it’s a much more emotional one. So far, it’s tiring, and it’s every day. It’s been a very exciting season, but it has also been very taxing on everybody. So I think we’re all going to be very happy to get home, but I’m sure all the fans will be very happy with the result.”

BJPENN.COM News - July 1, 2013
“You know, when it gets down to the fact, do you want to change the card? You know, do you want to move fights around and switch fights?. When that starts happening, it’s like ‘Yeah, maybe we can’t do the fight here.’ But, you know, we figured it out… No. We ended up getting everything straightened out. The fights will happen. The card will be great. It’s going to be good. There’s always something. It literally never ends. There’s always something, something that pops up or whatever. We’re pretty used to dealing with this stuff.” If you missed it, Visa issues and the ability to work in Boston, for the UFC’s debut on Fox Sports 1, almost caused the UFC’s planned event to come apart at the seams. The state of Boston was at one-point requiring all international fighters to have a U.S. social security number in order to compete under their jurisdiction.
