Heads Up Maine, Dana White Working On Event In Bangor
BJPENN.COM News - June 28, 2013
“I’m trying, and working with my team, to bring a UFC event to Bangor. The arena is new, it’s all redone. The [Hollywood] casino is there now, and I’m doing everything in my power to try to bring the UFC here. I think it would be really big for the city to bring the UFC here. Obviously people fly in from all over the world for UFC events, plus it would be on television all over the world so it would be big for the city if I could pull it off.” UFC President, Dana White, recently told the Sun Journal that he is trying to put together a UFC event in the great state of Maine.

Dos Santos Lost All Interest In Overeem Fight Once 'Bigfoot Put Him In His Place'
BJPENN.COM News - June 27, 2013
“‘Bigfoot’ put him in his place. I no longer feel the wish to face him but I fight whomever the UFC puts in front of me. I will train aiming that guy and to be very well prepared to win. The limited fighters, guys who don’t believe in themselves, who don’t dedicate to the training and don’t take it seriously are the ones who make it to call for attention. They do it to hype themselves. It’s not that he [Overeem] is bad. He is an excellent fighter and he has great accomplishments in his career. You see (Chael) Sonnen making controversial statements as well but I’m not saying anything bad about him. Have you seen Sonnen? He is an excellent athlete… but he is better as a commentator.” Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem were once scheduled to face-off for the UFC heavyweight title. Overeem got popped for elevated testosterone levels in a pre-fight drug screening and the fight was off.

Anderson Silva Enlists Grappling Expert Galvao In Prep For Weidman
BJPENN.COM News - June 27, 2013
“I came to help Anderson for his fight against Chris Weidman,” said Galvao. “He asked me to help him in his ground game, and he always helped me. I’m helping him and everything is going well… Since Ramon brought me in, I saw an improvement in Anderson’s ground game. He is a black belt, and just need a little polishing. He is a very talented guy who learns fast. In this aspect he is fine, and will be ready to fight Chris Weidman. We respect (Weidman) and will be ready for his weapons.”

Rampage: Spike TV Made The UFC
BJPENN.COM News - June 27, 2013
“Dana’s actually a cool guy. Dana is really down to earth. He’s actually really cool, but sometimes when it’s business, it’s business. Dana, you can tell that he’s a strong businessman because look what he’s done with the company. Sometimes he gets a little bit too emotional with his business, and that’s what makes you have a bad attitude toward Dana. With me, when Dana gets upset, he comes at me and says something, and I’m an alpha too. I say stuff and we get in an argument and then after a while, I’m cool with it. I don’t hold grudges.” “Now I’m kind of happy that that actually happened because even though the fans don’t understand it, they don’t see it, but I think Bellator is actually going to come up. You’ve got to think about it. Spike TV is what made the UFC. The UFC wouldn’t be where it is without Spike TV.”

Anderson Silva: Win or lose, nothing more to prove
BJPENN.COM News - June 26, 2013
“Every new fight is a new challenge. It’s really going to be up to whoever’s better prepared that night. Win or lose, a loser or a winner always walk side by side, so that doesn’t really matter. I’ve been doing this since I was eight years old. There’s always new challenges, there’s always new things. My biggest concern is going out there and doing better for myself. I’m not concerned about what my opponents do. I want to better myself and I want to overcome anything that I have.”

TIm Kennedy | Emptying Trash Cans Pays More Than UFC
BJPENN.COM News - June 26, 2013
“It’s pathetic that so many fighters [have to have other job]. I’m one of the 3% of guys in the whole entire sport and it would be slim pickings to survive off what I make in fighting. It’s a good thing I have another job because the UFC doesn’t pay very well. Anybody who accepts that as a reality of the sport is sad and pathetic. I hope this isn’t the reality of the sport, if it is I should probably go do something else, like empty trash cans. I’d make more money than I do now.”

Matt Brown: 'I'm the worst match up for GSP, I know I'd destroy him'
BJPENN.COM News - June 26, 2013
“I think he’d be scared to get close enough to hit me because I’m not going to avoid anything he throws. I’m going to step right in the pocket and throw down. He’s not going to have any option but to be on the feet with me. Even if he has the skills to stand, he would not be able to handle my pressure, tenacity and desire to win. I think I’m one of the worst match ups for GSP.
