Tim Kennedy would rather fight for Scott Coker than in the UFC

Outspoken UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy was a guest on Submission Radio talking about a variety of topics including potential matchups for him in the division to the thought of fighting in Bellator under Scott Coker. Kennedy’s last fight was over a year ago, and it seems like the opinionated fighter has been on the sidelines due to his blunt opinions on his Reebok deal contracted through the UFC.

Ronda Rousey’s mom, Dr. Ann Maria, recently had some very harsh things to say in regards to her daughter’s head coach Edmond Tarverdyan. She stated that “she’s around some people that I think are really bad for her… People who do not have her best interests at heart” after stating that Edmond is a “terrible coach” and a “bad person.” During a UFC 193 media day scrum earlier this week, Edmond Tarverdyan was asked about the comments.
Rizin officials searching for new opponent for Emelianenko

Recently it was announced that Fedor Emelianenko would be making his return to MMA on New Year’s Eve under the Rizin Fighting Federation banner. There was much speculation as to who Emelianenko would be fighting in his highly anticipated return to MMA. When news broke that Jaideep Singh, who was just 1-0 in professional MMA at the time of the announcement, would be Emelianenko’s opponent there was an uproar. Singh is 40-10 in his professional kickboxing career, and is now 2-0 in his professional MMA career after wining his second bout via TKO earlier this month.

After Ronda Rousey’s UFC 190 win over Bethe Correia it was revealed that the next UFC title shot would go to the highly touted prospect Holly Holm.

Reza Madadi made his return to the UFC this past Saturday at ‘UFC Fight Night: Dublin’ where he lost via unanimous decision to Norman Parke. The loss was the first time Madadi stepped into the Octagon in over 2 years, and also served as his first bout back in the UFC after being released due to legal troubles.

UFC strawweight Paige VanZant was scheduled to fight Joanne Calderwood for her first main event fight at UFC Fight Night 80 in Las Vegas, Nevada on Dec. 10. Apparently that has changed and VanZant is getting a new opponent, according to her teammate at Team Alpha Male. Justin Buchholz announced the change in opponent on the team’s radio show. “I’ve got a huge announcement. So I found out that Paige VanZant’s opponent… Calderwood’s out. She’s out. Paige, she’s fighting Rose Namajunas,” Buchholz said. “That’s a main event slot, so it’s going to be an awesome fight.”

When Nick Diaz was handed a 5 year suspension from the NSAC last month there was an uproar. Many called out the NSAC for abusing their power and essentially forcing the end of Diaz’s MMA career. A petition was started, which received support from numerous high-profile figures including Cher, Wiz Khalifa, Gina Carano, and more. In addition, the petition received the required 100,000 signatures to bring it to the attention of President Obama.
