Tim Kennedy: I could beat 'slower, weaker' Dan Henderson

When Tim Kennedy called out Dan Henderson this year for a fight at UFC’s ‘Fight For The Troops’ event, Henderson insisted that fans wouldn’t be interested in seeing the pair fight because of stylistic differences. Henderson stated that he would rather fight Vitor Belfort in a rubber match, which was then booked and slated for ‘UFC Fight Night: Sao Paulo’ on November 7th. Regardless, Kennedy isn’t ready to close the book on a potential fight with Henderson.
Ian McCall eyeing 'Cerrone-like' schedule after returning from surgery

UFC flyweight Ian McCall has had a laundry list of injuries that have haunted him since signing with the UFC in 2012. McCall said in an interview with MMA Junkie that he just finished shoulder surgery twelve weeks ago for a torn rotator cuff, two torn labra, and a torn bicep tendon. McCall was initially told that it was probably just a labrum tear, but later found the injury to be much more than that. Now McCall is looking to get healthy and back to fighting, and fighting often. “So, basically, my whole shoulder was done, and I just threw my first punch last week after about three months,” McCall said.
Poirier: I saved Norman Parke's career

When Joseph Duffy withdrew from his main event bout of ‘UFC Fight Night: Dublin’ against Dustin Poirier the UFC offered Norman Parke the opportunity to step in on short notice for Duffy. Parke accepted the bout, however Poirier didn’t, which brought him criticism from many fans. Parke went on to fight Reza Madadi in the co-main event, and won the bout via unanimous decision in a lackluster one-sided fight. The way Poirier sees it, he actually saved Parke’s career given that Parke was on a 2-fight skid prior to his fight against Madadi.

After Conor McGregor defeated Chad Mendes at UFC 189 to claim the interim featherweight championship Frankie Edgar climbed up onto the platform the Octagon was on and congratulated Conor McGregor. As it turns out Edgar wasn’t only impressed with McGregor, he also thought that Mendes was looking for a way out of the fight.

When it comes to Vitor Belfort’s past transgressions, fighters and fans are split right down the middle. While some see Vitor Belfort’s failed drug tests and PED usage as a thing of the past, others believe he should continue to be ostracized for them. Prior to Belfort’s appearance on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour podcast on Monday, Belfort’s wife submitted a request to remove any questions surrounding Belfort’s shady drug test results prior to his UFC 152 bout against Jon Jones from the list of potential discussion topics. When Helwani didn’t oblige to her request, Belfort’s appearance was cancelled.

Recently, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey landed a spot on the cover of ‘Ring’ magazine, which is a boxing magazine. While UFC fans were impressed by Rousey gracing the cover of the famed boxing magazine, boxing fans were split down the middle. Some said that it was wrong of the magazine to feature a UFC champion rather than a boxer. Others said that Rousey being on the cover could draw new eyes to boxing, which many consider to be a dying sport.
