Luke Rockhold: "I'm more of a man" Than Vitor Belfort
BJPENN.COM News - April 30, 2013
“I think my advantages is everywhere really. Vitor will always have fast hands, he has good power, but I pose a lot of problems myself. I’m a longer fighter, I have better kicks than him. I believe my advantages are on the ground, in wrestling, in the distance in the stand up. I have plenty of ways to win this fight. And most of all, I got more heart than Vitor. I think I’m more of a man than Vitor.” “I think it’s a crock of s*** personally. I don’t understand it,” Luke said of Vitor’s TRT exemption. “I think Nevada set the standard for most of the other states. And it’s like the NBA and Baseball, if they travel overseas, they’re not going to be permitted to use steroids just because they’re overseas. I think it’s just crap. But at the same time, if they’re not going to punish him, I will. And I believe it hurts you in more ways than it helps you.”

Marc Ratner To Make Formal Request To Change Unified Rules At Summer ABC Convention
bjpenndotcom - April 29, 2013
This past weekend at UFC 159 we saw light heavyweight Ovince St. Preux get his eyes accidentally gouged by opponent Gian Villante which led referee Kevin Mulhall to halt and call an end to the fight. Immediately following the event, UFC President Dana White discussed his desire to reassess the rules: “What needs to happen is the [Association of Boxing Commissions] needs to get together, and we need to come up with a few things,” White said. “We really do need to revamp some rules and regs. I think obviously the eye poke thing is a big deal. We need to talk about that. And the other thing is this three-point (rule). I don’t like this three-point thing where you can’t get kneed if you have your finger on the ground. That’s not what the rule was meant for, so I think we’re due.”

MMA Rules In Need Of Revamp Says UFC Boss Following Interesting UFC 159 Event
BJPENN.COM News - April 29, 2013
“He should have had a doctor come in. You stop the fight. You send the guy to a neutral counter. You have a doctor come in a check him out, and the doctor determines whether he can go on or not. That’s what should have happened… The guys said, ‘can you see?’ He said, ‘I can’t see,’ so he stopped the fight. He said I can’t see because I got poked in the (expletive) eye. Give me a minute. But apparently, what Joe Silva (UFC matchmaker) was telling me, there’s no poke in the eye rule here. If you get kicked in the groin you get five minutes to recover from it. There’s nothing in the rules about a poke to the eye because in boxing there is no poked in the eye. Guys don’t get poked in the eye anymore in boxing. What needs to happen is that ABC (Association of Boxing Commissions) needs to get together and we need to come up with a few things. We really need to revamp some rules and regs. Obviously the eye poke thing is a big deal. We need to talk about that. And the other thing is this three-point thing where you can’t get kneed if you have your finger on the ground. That’s not what the rule was meant for, so I think we’re due.” Following the UFC 159 post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White addressed the media with his thoughts on so much needed rule changes for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.
