Swedish Commission Releases Statement On The Removal Of Alexander Gustafsson
BJPENN.COM News - April 12, 2013
On Saturday the 30th of March a SMMAF doctor examined Mr. Alexander Gustafsson and forwarded images of the injury, pre and post sutures, to two other SMMAF doctors. Together they made the assessment that Gustafsson’s injury was of such a nature that he would not be able to compete nor partake in full–contact sparring for another 6 weeks or more without risking further injury and that it was highly unlikely that he would be cleared at the medical check the day before the match. The cut was both wide and deep and in a sensitive area. Consequently, he could not at that time be deemed fit to safely compete in the match. It was formally decided on the 2nd of April that Gustafsson´s match was stopped through the ruling of the Medical Committee. Questions have been raised regarding the assessment of the Medical Committee and the SMMAF board has requested we supply the Federation with a formal clarification on the details of the decision.

Weidman Planning On Beating Anderson Silva And Making It Look Easy
BJPENN.COM News - April 12, 2013
“I’m a huge fan of Anderson Silva. He’s one of my favorite fighters to watch. Obviously he has 16 fights in a row with the UFC, defended his belt, whatever it is. He does a great job, he is so confident. He is beating most of guys before they even walk in the cage. Once they get in the cage with them, he does such a great job of making them feel like they do not belong in the cage with him, like, ‘Are you joking me? You are not on my level.’ He makes them feel so uncomfortable that they just want to break. He has them broken and then he can hit them with whatever he wants and then he looks like a freaking God. I agree and I do think he is the best of all time. He is pound-for-pound the best, but I think I’m better. I think I can beat him. There’s a lot of motivation for the fight. One of the biggest for me is to prove all of those people that actually think I’m going to get killed and see him as unbeatable. I can’t wait to prove them wrong. I want to make it look easy out there. I want to shock the world.” Anderson Silva’s next title challenger, Chris Weidman, tells The Fight Networks 5 Rounds, that he is ready to shock the world and prove that he is better then Anderson Silva.

VIDEO | Mazzagatti Admits His Bad Call Caused Fighter A Loss
BJPENN.COM News - April 10, 2013
“It looked to me like he got hit with an uppercut. He went back, grabbed his face and hit the ground. Later on, we found out it was clear as day an eye poke. We didn’t have the instant replay at the time…so one of those losses on Anthony’s career was due to my bad call.” “I had to stick by my decision. Once you make that call, the fight’s over, he rolls over and says, ‘I got poked in the eye,’ I already made the call. Now, I do have the ability to go back and say, ‘Wow, he did get poked in the eye.’ I’m turning this loss into a disqualification in Anthony’s favor.”

BJPENN.COM News - April 9, 2013
“Ultimately what lead me to leave was just, I felt in my heart that I couldn’t win with that team. They’re a great group of guys, the coaches are world renowned, but the chemistry for me, there was no recipe for success.” “When I step into a gym, I want to have a game plan all the way through. I want to see it through and I want to have coaches that will be on my side on my hip, day in and day out, and I didn’t really have that with a lot of coaches there. The only coach that I have that relationship with physically right now is Dr. Ron Tripp. He’s my judo coach. So no matter what team I end up at, he’s always going to be in my corner.”
