Javier Mendez: BJ Penn Was Incredible To Teach
BJPENN.COM News - April 1, 2013
“B.J. got introduced to me through Bobby Southworth, who was friends with B.J. when B.J. started practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu at Ralph Gracie’s in Mountain View. But, he came to me to train because he knew I trained Frank Shamrock. B.J. was incredible to teach. Everything I taught him, he picked it up as though he had known it forever. His level of progression was one of the best I have ever trained. What I think he learned from me is how to run his own training camp.” Flash from the past…

The fight has not yet been made official by the UFC, but was first reported by Tatame.com. Damm could very well be fighting for his job, given he has dropped three of his last four fights. Hirota lost his UFC featherweight debut to Rani Yahya at UFC on Fuel 8, and with two straight losses, the Japanese scrapper has his back against the wall in this fight as well.

"Bigfoot" On TRT: It doesn't win fights | UFC NEWS
BJPENN.COM News - March 28, 2013
“If they’re going to allow him (Overeem) to use it, what are you going to do? For sure I’m going to be angry. Because it happens, this test that he did with his testosterone, yes? It was a low level, right? You know why? Because he stops taking these things. So then he did the test [laughs] and comes back to take the things.” “Testosterone don’t win the fight, (not) Chael Sonnen, (not) Overeem — a lot of guys use testosterone and they don’t win the fight.”
Phil Davis Ready To Make Magalhaes Regret Asking The Fight | UFC NEWS
BJPENN.COM News - March 28, 2013
“I respect Vinny a lot. I respect all the guys in my weight class, all the guys in the UFC. All of them are skilled fighters — we’re the best in the world. I take him very seriously, but, he’s going to regret asking to fight me. Some lessons have to be learned the hard way. You wanted this fight, you got it. Another thing is, I’m a giving person, if there is something you need, just ask me for it. You want to fight me? Boom, you got it. Make a wish? Boom, Merry Christmas, you got me.”

Faber On Cruz: He Hits Like A Weirdo But He Shouldn't Be Stripped Of His Title | UFC NEWS
BJPENN.COM News - March 27, 2013
“I don’t feel like he should be stripped of the belt. The guy’s earned it. Part of the reason why he’s injured is because he puts it all out there and hits like a weirdo, but he throws punches anyways. I wouldn’t count the guy out. I don’t think they should strip him of the title…. He’s still, in my opinion, considered the champion. I don’t think you strip a guy of the belt. I would be pissed if they stripped me of the belt.”

Greg Jackson: Sonnen is "tougher than a lot of people give him credit for" | UFC NEWS
BJPENN.COM News - March 27, 2013
“There are a lot of danger zones with Chael. Chael is tougher than a lot of people give him credit for. When we didn’t want to fight him on three days notice or whatever, we’d never fight anybody on such short notice for somebody at Jon Jones level. People think he doesn’t have any punching power, but then you see him drop Anderson Silva. Once he gets on top of you, it’s trouble, and a lot of guys can’t seem to get around that ground and pound style, so if you don’t do things correctly with him, you get in trouble real quick. We have to make sure we take him very seriously. He’s a very tough opponent and he’s very smart. He’s going to try to negate the length and push the fight forward, and we have to be ready for that. We have to be ready for a 25 minute, all out war. He’s going to try to wear Jon down with his cardio. We have to be ready for all of those eventualities to make sure that Jon is on point and ready and can execute his gameplan. It’s not going to be an easy fight.”

Condit: GSP vs. Diaz Fight Nothing To Write Home About | UFC NEWS
BJPENN.COM News - March 27, 2013
“Yeah, I watched most of that fight. It went very much as I expected it to go. It was a little bit lackluster, nothing to write home about. Georges is very good at what he does, but a lot of his fights aren’t really very exciting.” Former UFC welterweight interim champion, Carlos Condit, tells Steph Daniels over at Bloodyelbow.com that he wasn’t all that impressed with the main event between GSP and Nick Diaz.
