In the opening bout of the main card a welterweight bout between Siyar Bahadurzada and Dong Hyun Kim kicked things off on FUEL TV. In the opening frame of action the two fighters engaged in a brief stand-up exchange before the Korean born fighter took the fight to the ground around the midway point where he held a decisive advantage in the grappling range.

Winner of four in a row, and six of his last seven, Struve will look to extend his win streak with a victory over MMA veteran Mark Hunt in Saitama Japan this weekend. Struve believes that with a win, he would be a clear number one contender for a title fight.

“I’d consider fighting anybody. As long as I didn’t have to cut too much weight, I’d pretty much fight anybody. I just want to get back in there as soon as possible. I hated the long layoff. I want to fight any one of the top 5 guys and I know I’m capable of beating them. That’ll keep me right up in there. I’ll take any one of them. I could sit here and bitch (about the Machida fight), but it doesn’t help anything. I just want to be active and give the fans what they should have seen the other night. I wasn’t planning on retiring anyway after 1 or 2 fights. I plan on being there for a couple of more years, at least. I want to get back in there and fight as soon as I can and stay active this year and next year for sure.”

Ronda Rousey has signed with premiere Hollywood talent agency William Morris Endeavor; only a week after making history winning the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s first ever women’s fight. Already en route to becoming a national sensation, this could further increase Rousey’s popularity and public exposure. In fact, rumors have been circulating this week that Rousey was offered a role in a Hunger Games sequel. However, Ronda Rousey wouldn’t be the first lady of MMA to make the crossover to the big screen. Many of you fight fans already know about Gina Carano, the first women’s martial artist to make a successful transition into Hollywood. Carano starred in the blockbuster Haywire, and can next be seen starring alongside Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) in the upcoming Fast and Furious sequel.

Matthew Riddle tested positive for marijuana metabolites following his bout at UFC on FUEL TV 7 in London, England on February 16, 2013. This is Riddle’s second failed drug test for marijuana within the past seven months. Riddle previously failed a post-fight drug test due to marijuana following his UFC 149 victory over Chris Clements. As such, the UFC organization is exercising its right to terminate Riddle for breach of his obligations under his Promotional Agreement as well as the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy. The UFC organization has a strict, consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance-enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents. The outcome of the bout against Che Mills was changed to a no contest and the results of the positive test will be reported to the official Association of Boxing Commissions MMA record-keeper.
