Bader vs. Teixeira added to UFC 160 | UFC NEWS
Julien Solomita - February 19, 2013
A light heavyweight battle has been added to the quickly improving Memorial Day Weekend UFC 160 card. Ryan Bader (15-3) is set to fight Glover Teixeira (20-2), a fight that will be Teixiera’s fourth fight in just the last year. Both light heavyweights have recently taken down the common opponent of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Teixiera with relentless striking, and Bader with his takedowns. Bader has relied more and more on his wrestling and takedown base since his knockout loss to Lyoto Machida in August, and has since been resilient with a first round UFC on Fox 6 submission victory over Vladimir Matyushenko.
Dana White to Fighters: You Dont Turn Down Joe Silva
bjpenndotcom - February 19, 2013
Dana White has always favored fighters who step up and take fights when they are called upon. He has always shown love for a guy who comes out and says, ‘I want to fight this guy! Please make it happen.’ On the other hand, when a fighter does the opposite and says, ‘I DONT want to fight that guy,’ not only does it look bad in the eyes of the UFC President, it enrages UFC VP for Talent Relations Joe Silva, as proclaimed by Dana White at the UFC on Fuel 7 Media Scrum: “I can tell you this man, you f@$%ing call Joe Silva and turn down a fight, you might as well say f@$%ng rip up my contract,” He also said, “He’s a mean little f@$%er. You don’t call Joe Silva and tell him you don’t want to f@$%ing fight anybody man. You might as well take the fight because it’s going be worse if you don’t. You might as well do it, f@$% it, I’ll fight him.”

When Rory MacDonald withdrew from UFC 158 with a neck injury, it left Carlos Condit withour an opponent. Not one to seize an opportunity, Johny Hendricks stepped up and took the co-main event fight. However, this left Hendrick’s original opponent, Jake Ellenberger, in the same position Condit was just in. There was talk of Tyron Woodley, Nate Marquardt, and even Damian Maia filling in against Ellenberger. In the end, the UFC decided on Nate Marquardt, who is starting his second stint with the organization.

Diaz Camp Refutes Whites Claim: Nick Hasn't Missed A Countdown Shoot | UFC NEWS
BJPENN.COM News - February 18, 2013
“Dana is mistaken. There is no ‘crew rolling around Stockton’ and Nick did not ‘miss’ three interviews. In fact, several earlier dates were arranged without Nick’s knowledge and with no notice to Nick. When Nick learned what had happened, I assisted him in arranging a date and time directly (Thursday, Feb. 14). Nick arrived early and was in good spirits at that Feb. 14 date – the one and only date he knew about in advance. Nick requires things to be done in an organized and orderly manner. That is the kind of professional he is.” Jonathan Tweedale, a lawyer with the Nick Diaz camp, told MMAWeekly.com that Nick Diaz has not missed his countdown show obligations as Dana White Claims.

Dana White Puzzled Over Cyborg's Move To Invicta | UFC NEWS
bjpenndotcom - February 18, 2013
Over the weekend Dana White confirmed his knowledge of Former Women’s StrikeForce Featherweight Champion, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos, signing with Invicta Fighting Championship. An all women’s organization in which Santos could find an opponent at 145 lbs. The confusion comes into play after Santos signed with Invicta, not because she is going to be fighting with the organization, but because the UFC was going to have her fight for the organization while still employing her as a UFC fighter. She would have had a UFC contract, she would have been privileged benefits as other UFC fighters, and she would have had the greatest MMA organization in the world at her back, as stated by UFC President Dana White: “We were going to sign her to a contract and then we were going to have her fight in Invicta, which means we’d pay all the bills for her to fight in Invicta. She’d be under a UFC contract with all the perks and benefits of being a UFC fighter, and would fight in Invicta. So instead of doing that, they chose to not do that and fight in Invicta. If you can make logic out of that whole f****** situation, you’re a better man than I”
