UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has posted an impressive 10-fight win streak during his reign atop the 170-pound division. On Saturday, March 16, he will look to extend that streak by one more as he steps back into the Octagon in his hometown to face former STRIKEFORCE® champion Nick Diaz at Montreal’s Bell Centre. On the heels of unifying the welterweight title in November 2012 after an 18-month absence due to injury, St-Pierre (23-2) requested the fight against his fiery rival Diaz (27-8-1, fighting out of Stockton, California), telling UFC President Dana White it was “unfinished business.” Diaz agreed. The Ultimate Fighting Championship will host a press conference on January 23 in Montreal with the main event stars, as tickets for UFC 158: ST-PIERRE vs. DIAZ go on sale to the general public on Saturday, January 26 at 12 p.m. ET at evenko.ca and the Bell Centre box office.

Two-time UFC middleweight title challenger, TUF Coach and current UFC light-heavyweight number one contender, Chael P. Sonnen announced yesterday evening during the UFC’s “UFC Tonight” on Fuel TV that he has inked a deal with the show to become part of the broadcasting team. “I was offered 60 MINUTES, THE TODAY SHOW, THE TONIGHT SHOW, they even said they would change the name to THE CHAEL SONNEN SHOW if I signed onto any of those sinking ships. THE X FACTOR said I could judge and compete at the same time, but I signed on the only dotted line that is important. I am going to join you in two weeks on January 29 on FUEL TV for UFC TONIGHT.

Longtime ringside commentator, Mike Goldberg has called the action on nearly every single UFC event in the modern MMA era, alongside his broadcasting partner Joe Rogan. However, at the 2012 year-end event, dubbed UFC 155, “Goldie” was absent and little was known as to the cause of his vanishing act. In his place was FUEL TV correspondent Jon Anik who took to the vacant mic next to Rogan and did his best Goldberg impersonation for the evenings full bout card.

If last weekend’s Strikeforce event was indeed a try out for the UFC, Pat Healy’s opponent, Kurt Holobaugh passed with flying colors. The featherweight competitor took the fight against Healy on just two-weeks notice in a division contested above his natural fighting weight and remained competitive for the majority of the match.
