By Evan Stoumbelis Chael Sonnen announced today that longtime training partner Dan Henderson will be his assistant coach on season 17 of The Ultimate Fighter. Sonnen will be coaching against light-heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones; The two are set to square off next April. Sonnen said: “We’re on great terms, and we’ve always been on great terms. You’ve got to understand, what Dan and I have got is like the military. Our gym has got an order, and Dan is one of the coaches. He’s above me. I don’t talk back to Dan, and if Dan wants to say something, that would be the way it is.”

“I’ve heard the rumour myself, but that’s all I’ve heard. If the fight was to happen I’d definitely be up for it. I’ve got a lot of respect for Vitor, he’s a tough fighter. I want to fight for the title and have the best fights possible – and Vitor would definitely be one of them.Based on that, if the UFC were to come to me with an offer to fight Vitor, I would be more than up for it. I’d look forward to the challenge. I match up really well with both of them. Weidman’s stand-up is very very poor, it’s not good at all. He’s a very good wrestler, very good grappler, but I do well against those guys. I’d get back to my feet and knock him out. Boetsch I don’t particularly rank at all. He’s just a tough bastard! You know this guy, everyone is just talking about him because he failed the drug test and he started to talk a lot of trash, so that is why people are talking about him. Well, his time will come.” “I didn’t put Overeem over Cain because they are different. Cain is a real fighter and he sells his fights fighting. It is very different than Overeem. I said that, but it is not the same thing. I keep saying that he doesn’t deserve to fight for the title, but I would love to fight with this guy to put him in his place because I don’t think he is at the same level as me, Cain and other fighters.”
