Chael spoke with UFC Today’s Ariel Helwani about a possible move to the Light Heavyweight division. “There is simply an option to start over by changing weight class. My mentors have done it, and it could happen. I would go up to 205. Jon Jones. There are some great guys at 185, but traditionally and historically, it is a good way to get a fresh start and start over.”

Everything’s going fine. I’m minding my own business. I’m out there, in the middle of a fist fight. I look up–in between rounds–and this is a true story–I see Kenny Florian and he’s got like a buffet style [dinner] in front of him. He’s stuffing his face. And I get completely distracted. Next thing I know, the ref says ‘are you ready?’ And I’m thinking, ‘no I’m not’. And I’ve gotta walk out there anyway.”

By Evan Stoumbelis Ultimate Fighter season 8 runner up Vinny Magalhaes has inked a deal with the UFC. His first opponent is rumored to be Igor Pokrajac at UFC 152. The bout has yet to be confirmed by UFC officials, as is Magalhaes’ newly inked contract, but it was reported by Canadian Sportsnet reporter Joe Ferraro. The fight joins a stacked UFC 152 card which features Joseph Benavidez vs Demetrious Johnson as the main event, Michael Bisping vs Brian Stann as the co-main event, and our very own BJ Penn vs Rory MacDonald. Vinny Magalhaes started his UFC career 0-2, losing in The Ultimate Fighter Finale to Ryan Bader. He then lost to Eliot Marshall. Since then Magalhaes has gone 7-1 and is the current M-1 205-pound champion.

The promotion has yet to announce Cormier’s opponent, but after the fight, Cormier will be making the jump to the UFC regardless of the outcome. Rumors circulated that his opponent would be Josh Barnett, but this has yet to be confirmed. By Evan Stoumbelis Wednesday night in the UFC on Fuel TV 4 main event, fans saw Chris Weidman face Mark Munoz. The All American Chris Weidman connected with an elbow that sent The Filipino Wrecking Machine Mark Munoz down. Weidman quickly began punching the downed Munoz, who was clearly unconscious. After several punishing blows referee Josh Rosenthal finally stepped in. Talk of Rosenthal’s late stoppage was quick to surface with Dana White taking to twitter saying: “Oh and by the way, horrible late stoppage by the ref. Mark took more shots than he should have. I can’t stand when refs blow it!!!”
