Whether or not they have settled their rivalries was not important at UFC 132, however, as both Liddell and White were caught off guard by Ortiz’s out-of-nowhere submission victory. Surprised, they joined the crowd in attendance in their standing ovation.

Urijah Faber (26-5) recently spoke to Inside MMA about his upcoming interim bantamweight title fight with Renan Barao (28-1, 1 NC). The two will fight in the main event of UFC 149 to determine who gets the next shot at the undisputed title when the winner goes on to face Dominick Cruz once the champ has returned to full health.

The injury bug hits another highly anticipated fight as Terry Etim (15-4) has been forced out of his upcoming bout with Joe Lauzon (21-7) on the UFC on FOX 4 card, which is scheduled to take place on August 4th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

A few months ago, before Vitor Belfort withdrew from his UFC 147 bout with Wanderlei Silva, BJPENN.com ran a story about why Wanderlei Silva shouldn't be considered an underdog for that fight. As the author of that article, I stand before the MMA community humbled. Not only did Belfort withdraw, but he was replaced by a different competitor who hadn't fought in 16 months and who wasn't even in peak physical shape as the bout ultimately took place at a catchweight of 190 pounds. That new competitor was former UFC middleweight champion, Rich Franklin.

By Evan Stoumbelis Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre has his sights set on becoming the David Beckham of Mixed Martial Arts.  The 36 year old Los Angeles Galaxy star player has a whopping salary of £160million, and earns around £26million from sponsorships. (The Sun)  St. Pierre only earns £5million for headlining a PPV fight.  St. Pierre said “My goal one day is to be the David Beckham of MMA but I still have a lot to do to reach that point. Mr Beckham is a great role model and I aspire to do the same.”  GSP suffered an ACL tear in December while training for a fight with now-suspended fighter Nick Diaz.  Georges has his sights set on a November comeback against interim Welterweight Champ Carlos Condit at UFC 154

By Evan Stoumbelis Last Friday Johnson vs McCall II headlined UFC on FX 3, where fans saw Demetrious Johnson defeat Ian McCall via unanimous decision. Johnson now moves on to fight Joseph Benavidez to become the first ever UFC Flyweight champion. Unfortunately, after seeing a slight climb in viewers during UFC on FX 2, numbers dropped by 300,000 for UFC on FX 3. The prelims, which aired on Fuel TV also suffered a drop in viewers, with 29,000 less people tuning in. As I watched the event I noticed it was lacking in the star-power aspect, which is understandable given that the UFC is holding 20 events in 22 weeks. Below is the compiled ratings for all 3 UFC on FX shows as well as the prelims hosted on Fuel TV.
