He’s coming off of a win over Alexander Gustafsson and now will wait to see when/if the UFC reinstates the former champ. Man, so that Jones fight is really going to be huge for DC.

Wanderlei Silva and NSAC hearing date set for late October
BJPENN.COM News - October 13, 2015
MMA legend Wanderlei Silva will once again go in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The last time he was there the Brazilian was handed a lifetime ban for running from a drug test. Since then the retired fighter has been pretty vocal, speaking out against the UFC for shady practices. However, a district court judge ordered the NSAC to hold another disciplinary hearing and come up with a new ruling because they basically didn’t have the right to order a lifetime ban, especially since Silva wasn’t even licensed in the state at the time of the incident.

Hendricks reveals why his body shut down -- 'My intestines dried up'
BJPENN.COM News - October 12, 2015
Johny Hendricks was set to fight in front of his home-state crowd in Texas at “UFC 192”, but weight cutting complications forced him out of his bout with Tyron Woodley. It was expected that whoever walked out of the octagon with their hand raised in the co-headliner would face the UFC Welterweight Champion after UFC 195 took place. Instead, Hendricks dropped down two positions to third in the official UFC rankings and Woodley replaced him at second in the division. Rumors started circulating whether or not the IV-bag ban impacted Hendricks’ decision to pull out of the fight, but it was a complication with meat, kidney stones and dry intestines that forced him on the sidelines.

BJPENN.COM News - October 12, 2015
Brendan Schaub hinted at it on a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience”, but it looks like he just made it official: Schaub is hanging up the gloves for good. The heavy hitter first appeared on UFC television as a contestant for the tenth season of “The Ultimate Fighter”. Schaub was lumped in a high-tension house with the likes of Kimbo Slice and Matt Mitrione and his personality shone through several times throughout the season. “Big Brown” tore his way through the competition and met Roy “Big Country” Nelson in the finals of the tournament, where he suffered a devastating knockout.

TJ Dillashaw: 'I'm not allowed to show my face at Team Alpha Male'
BJPENN.COM News - October 12, 2015
Even though it has been over a year since Duane “Bang” Ludwig stepped down as the head coach of Team Alpha Male, tensions are still rising and the rivalry between the two parties is at an all time high. While there is no doubt that Ludwig is an outstanding striking coach, his methods of teaching seem to be a little out there. Urijah Faber recently claimed that Lugwig threw sexist and racist remarks around in a joking manner all too often, to the point where it bothered his students.

Northcutt Heading To Tristar For Trial Period
Chris Taylor - October 12, 2015
UFC lightweight prospect Sage Northcutt (6-0 MMA) recently praised former UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre as being one of the men who inspired him to succeed in mixed martial arts. “Georges St-Pierre is one of my favorite fighters,” Northcutt said prior to UFC 192. “He’s just a phenomenal athlete. If you look at him, he’s ripped up, and he’s in shape. (He has) incredible cardio, conditioning, strength and you can just see he has a little bit of everything and is super well-rounded. He can pick someone apart with a jab and just beat them up, or he can take them down and his takedowns are some of the best in MMA.”

Chris Taylor - October 12, 2015
Former UFC flyweight contender John “Hands of Stone” Lineker (26-7 MMA) returned to the promotions bantamweight division at last month’s UFC 191 event in Las Vegas, where he scored a first-round submission victory over Francisco Rivera. The win marked Lineker’s third victory in a row and earned him a $50k “Fight of the night” bonus.

Bas Rutten Explains Ludwig's Dislike For Women's MMA
BJPENN.COM News - October 12, 2015
Team Alpha Male’s split with former head coach Duane “Bang” Ludwig seemed like an amicable one when it first happened. All was not as it seemed, though, and trouble was brewing beneath the surface. Urijah Faber recently revealed some dirty details behind Ludwig’s stint as head coach at Team Alpha Male including the Denver native’s dislike of coaching women. Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Bas Rutten doesn’t believe that Ludwig thinks women shouldn’t fight, but rather he experiences a discomfort when seeing women get punched in the face.

Ronda Rousey Showing Support For Triple G, And He's Flattered
BJPENN.COM News - October 12, 2015
The world of mixed martial arts and boxing clash once again as Ronda Rousey shows some love for Gennady Golovkin days away from his major HBO pay-per-view debut! Golovkin is the top ranked middleweight and will be walking into Madison Square Garden on October 17, 2015 with a ton of momentum behind him as he is on a ridiculous thirty-three fight win streak. His opponent in the main-event bout will be David Lemieux who sports just two losses throughout thirty-six professional fights. Casual fans who have been trying to get into the sport of boxing dipped their feet with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao’s slow fight in May and were let down to say the least. Seeing as thirty of Golovkin’s wins have come by way of knockout, those same fans may want to give the sport another chance this Saturday!

Bader: Put Jones On Hold, Give Me Cormier
BJPENN.COM News - October 12, 2015
Ryan Bader has his sights set on Daniel Cormier’s UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. The “Ultimate Fighter” alum is currently ranked third in the division just under Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and Alexander Gustafsson, both of whom have fallen to Cormier’s wrestling skill in the past. Bader believes that now is the time for him to capitalize on the momentum his five-fight win streak has given him by stepping into the octagon with Cormier, challenging him for his title. Seeing as Bader just defeated a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion in Rashad Evans at UFC 192, a title shot would be logical for Bader.

TJ Dillashaw has a message for fans who judge him for switching camps
BJPENN.COM News - October 12, 2015
UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw has been on the receiving end of criticism after he announced he would be moving camps to Elevation Fight Team in Colorado. Dillashaw’s name has always been synonymous with the likes of Urijah Faber and Joseph Benavidez at Team Alpha Male. While Duane “Bang” Ludwig was serving as the camp’s head coach, the team saw an improvement in striking and it translated to wins in the octagon. Perhaps the biggest improvement was the striking of Dillashaw who picked apart Renan Barao to win the championship.
