It has been a while since Georges St. Pierre made headlines in the world of mixed martial arts. The Canadian native decided to temporarily hang up his gloves at the end of 2013 and has yet to return to the octagon for action. Instead, St. Pierre has been getting his physical fix in helping his training partners improve themselves at Tristar Gym in Montreal!

The men and women of the octagon have to dedicate themselves to this sport if they want to make it to the top, but that doesn’t mean they have to train ALL the time. UFC Heavyweight Derrick Lewis stepped away from the gym to attend the American League Division Series between the Houston Astros and Kansas City Royals. Lewis happened to catch this fan allegedly doing cocaine at the event. Now, it’s clear he has no issues with snitching her out. It’s not often you see someone being so blatant about using drugs in public after all! Check out the video below!

Even though Rousey will be walking into the octagon on fight-night as one of the biggest favorites in the sport’s history, the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion will have the eyes of the mainstream world on her to add pressure. Lucky for Rousey, she has shown no signs of weakness when all eyes are on her and she performs amazingly under pressure. The bantamweight queen has successfully defended her throne six times now and aims to walk out of the gold for a seventh time when she faces Holly Holm on November 15, 2015.

Sterling was ready to make a run at the top of his division by year’s end, but fighter after fighter turned down the offer to fight him. Bryan Caraway’s rejection of the bantamweight star in the making upset Sterling the most, as he believed a fight between them was truly the next logical step for both men.

Despite fans saying otherwise, Demetrious Johnson’s run as UFC Flyweight Champion could be one of the most dominant title runs in the company’s history. Johnson is currently riding an amazing nine fight win streak and has successfully defended his championship seven times. He hopes to one day break Anderson Silva’s record of ten consecutive defenses, and is on pace to break it by early-2017. Before he breaks the record, however, he may be stepping into the octagon to square off with the company’s bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw.

Paige VanZant’s meteoric rise toward the top of her division could have been cut short when she stepped into the octagon with fellow UFC strawweight Felice Herrig. Herrig may not have the most impressive UFC record to date, but she was a legitimate and actual test for VanZant in April at “UFC on FOX”. The fact that VanZant dominated such a veteran of the game was as impressive as Herrig’s lackluster performance was confusing. It never looked like Herrig kicked it into second gear when she fought the twenty year old phenomenon and there’s a good reason why: Herrig was crippled with anxiety and demons hindered her performance that night.

After nearly a year of call outs and trash talking, Jose Aldo was scheduled to finally meet Conor McGregor in the middle of the octagon at “UFC 189” to decide who the featherweight king was. Aldo was forced out of the bout after suffering a rib injury, though, and was replaced by Chad Mendes in the last minute. Instead of testing himself against Aldo, McGregor blasted through Team Alpha Male standout Chad Mendes to become the Interim UFC Featherweight Champion. While Aldo was on the sidelines recovering, McGregor did media appearances on major outlets and proceeded to trash the Brazilian champion. He has since laid off the insults and mentioned he just hopes Aldo stays healthy enough for their fight at “UFC 194”.

After the conclusion of UFC 190 in Brazil, it seemed like the stars were lining up for a Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino and Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey to finally meet in the octagon. UFC President Dana White and company had other plans for Rousey, however, and it was revealed Holly Holm would be next in line for a shot at the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship. “Cyborg” training and film-making collide in the “Fight Valley” clip below where she tosses a guy over her head… The belly to belly suplex looked effortless!

Jon “Bones” Jones path to redemption has the potential to be one of the greatest comeback stories in mixed martial arts and the former champion could be hinting that a return may happen sooner rather than later. Earlier in April 2015, Jones was involved in some legal troubles after fleeing the scene on foot of a three-car accident that he allegedly caused. UFC President Dana White had no choice but to strip Jones of the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship and suspend him indefinitely so he could concentrate on his court appearances and figure out his personal problems.

Every time UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey inks another deal to step into the octagon and defend her title against another challenger, fans no longer ponder whether or not she will be successful. Lately, the question on their mind is “How fast will she finish her opponent this time?” No matter where the women pit against “Rowdy” have been ranked within the bantamweight division, the fact remains that they are elite competitors. If you are an athlete in the octagon, you are elite. Whether or not they are on the same tier as Ronda Rousey is usually not a question figured out until the initial bell rings, however.

The flyweight champion’s pay-per-view numbers have slacked during his last two headlining cards, but he doesn’t care whether or not the fans are tuning in to see him fight. All “Mighty Mouse” cares about is walking into the octagon and defending his championship.

Jon Fitch used to call the octagon his home. Now, the WSOF title contender is in a midst of a ten-month battle with the UFC and with no end in sight, he plans to be a thought in the company’s mind for a long time. In late 2014 it was announced that Jon Fitch, Cung Le and a small collection of former UFC fighters would be suing the company in a class action lawsuit for having a monopoly on the sport. They accused the UFC of “systematically eliminating competition from rival promoters” as well as “artificially” suppressing fighter’s earnings from bouts.
