Former UFC fighter and current analyst Kenny Florian thinks pretty highly of the new UFC star, Sage Northcutt. Northcutt made his UFC debut at this past Saturday’s UFC 192, where he took on Francisco Trevino in a preliminary fight. It didn’t take long for the 19 year old to make his statement in the promotion, taking out Trevino in under a minute, and then showcasing his ridiculous athleticism with a pair of crazy flips.

Currently there’s a dominant champ reigning over the UFC’s strawweight division and her name is Joanna Jedrzejczyk, or Joanna ‘Champion.’ Especially in her last two fights, where she’s absolutely destroyed former champ Carla Esparza and challenger Jessica Penne. Not only did she beat them, she battered them with her high level striking and left them a bloody mess.

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson hasn’t fought since April of this year, when he defeated Fábio Maldonado via unanimous decision. Jackson is actually on a four-fight win streak, dating back to his three fights under the Bellator banner. However, according to the MMA legend, we might never see him fight again. His issue with Bellator is still going on and he’s still locked in a legal battle with the Viacom owned promotion, over his past contract. Until it all gets figured out, he won’t be able to enter the octagon to fight again.

Conor McGregor, ‘The Notorious’, Mystic Mac, these are all names associated with the UFC’s interim featherweight champ. And now, we can add ‘Ruler of The Numbers,’ to the list. The Irishmen recently appeared on The MMA Hour and talked about his antics at the ‘GO BIG’ press conference, where he got into a feud with just about every other fighter there. Most of his arguments had to do with numbers and how he pulls in the most, and how fighting him can change your life, i.e. ‘red panty night.’

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier just defended his belt in a war with Alexander Gustafsson, a fight many are calling fight of the year, and he’s already being asked about a rematch with former champ, Jon Jones. Going into the fight Cormier already expected it to go this way. Jones’ court hearing took place just days before UFC 192, so he knew that with Jones’ UFC return likely upcoming, he would eventually be facing off with Jones.

Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen isn’t giving upcoming title challenger Holly Holm much of a chance against the champ, Ronda Rousey. It would be a difficult task, finding someone who’s making the argument that Holm will be able to out grapple the champ, but there are those who point to her pro boxing titles and experience when saying that she has a chance to stand and out strike the undefeated champion. However, Sonnen is not one of those people.

In a bit of surprising news, UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw will now be joining a new team in Denver, where he will be doing his full training camp for his fight against Dominick Cruz. The news first came from a report put out by Globo. After that, both Dillashaw and Urijah Faber released comments on the situation. The report also stated that Dillashaw would still be working with striking coach Duane Ludwig, who resides in Denver.

This past Saturday, at UFC 192, we saw a pretty exciting and eventful night of fights. Some of the UFC’s divisions were impacted in some major ways after the event, including the women’s bantamweight division, which might have a new contender, and the light heavyweight division. The landscape of the 205 division was shaken up after Ryan Bader took on former champ Rashad Evans and beat him in a three round scrap. After the win, ‘Darth,’ was bumped up in the official UFC rankings, from number 4 to the number 3 spot.

He says, she says! Current UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey claims to be the highest paid UFC fighter right now and it looks like Conor McGregor is expecting to dethrone her pretty soon. Rousey has said it herself, that she’s the highest paid and thinks it’s rightfully the case, however Mr. McGregor isn’t one to be outdone and on a recent episode of ‘The MMA Hour’ said that he’s targeting a $100 million plus UFC contract very soon.

If you missed a big story from yesterday, here’s a quick rundown. So as I’m sure you’ve heard, the scheduled co-main event for UFC 192, between welterweights Tyron Woodley and Johny Hendricks, was canceled the day before because of issues stemming from Hendricks’ weight cut. He ended up getting an intestinal blockage and a kidney stone. After the news of the cancellation UFC president Dana White came out and said that Woodley would be next in line for the title. Most everyone was satisfied with that, seeing as how Woodley is certainly a top welterweight and a win over former champ Hendricks would likely have earned him that any way. Is it his fault Hendricks wasn’t able to go?

The latest in the UFC vs. Wanderlei Silva legal battle is that the MMA legend will now be looking to get the lawsuit filed against him dismissed. The UFC filed a complaint of “Intentional Misconduct” against Silva on July 29th, after the fighter put up several posts on his Facebook, accusing the promotion of fixing fights.

Former Invicta FC atomweight champion Michelle Waterson, aka ‘The Karate Hottie’, is currently in the UFC and is coming off of her debut win over Angela Magana. Her next fight will be against another TUF 20 cast member, Tecia Torres. It will be a tough challenge for both fighters and the winner will certainly be pushed up the rankings and on their way towards a UFC title.
