Woodley: The media knew my UFC 192 bout was canceled before I did
BJPENN.COM News - October 4, 2015
Johny “Big Rig” Hendricks lost an opportunity to earn another title shot in front of his home-state crowd in Texas when he was forced out of his fight with Tyron Woodley due to weight cutting issues. Woodley was ready to make weight on Friday evening, but learned of his bout falling through in a bizarre manner. Rather than his boss UFC President Dana White or UFC matchmaker Joe Silva contacting him, Woodley learned through social media. “I got the news as I was laying on the floor in the locker room stretching out when I completed my weight cut,” Woodley told informed MMA Junkie during UFC 192. “I was down to weight and we got the news. I got the news after you guys (the media) got the news, which was kind of crappy. It was on the Internet already. I don’t know what time you guys got it, but I got at like 11 (a.m.)-something, closer to noon.”

Champion D.C. Says No To New York Jones Scrap
BJPENN.COM News - October 4, 2015
Jon “Bones” Jones was stripped of his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship earlier in April this year when he allegedly fled the scene of a three-car accident that he caused. The former champion recently learned that he would only be serving probation rather than jail time and has received the go-ahead to start training for his return to action. Jones was originally scheduled to go toe-to-toe with Anthony “Rumble” Johnson at UFC 187 in May, but was replaced by Daniel Cormier due to his suspension. Cormier got the better of “Rumble” that night and walked out of the cage with the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship draped over his shoulder, ready and willing to defend it against all challengers.

Here's The Controversial Scorecard for Cormier/Gustafsson
BJPENN.COM News - October 4, 2015
Fans were on their feet when Daniel Cormier’s first attempt at defending the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship came to an end at “UFC 192”. Both Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson proved to be championship material, but only one fighter could walk out with the gold slung over their shoulder. Cormier relied on his bread and butter of wrestling to secure the unanimous decision victory, but it wasn’t without some controversy. Gustafsson actually out-wrestled the olympian in the second round and landed a solid knee in the third to gain momentum in the middle of the fight. The fourth and fifth rounds were up for grabs and the judges thought more than just the last ten minutes of action was up for grabs, according to their odd scorecards:

BJPENN.COM News - October 4, 2015
Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson went to war in one of the best championship fights of the year! The two warriors left it all in the octagon for the right to become the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Cormier set the pace for an exciting fight when he executed a vicious slam on Gustafsson from at the beginning of the fight. The rest of the right was a challenge for the champion, however, as he was forced to push through several stiff shots and takedowns in order to retain the title. When he is put on the spot, Gustafsson truly does bring out the best in champions during his title fights.

Watching someone get low-blowed in the octagon is one of the most awkward moments for fans. The moment it happens, whoever is in color-commentary requests a replay so the fans can see how brutal it truly was. More often than not, the fighter just needs a couple minutes to shake it off and get back to his feet. Very rarely, however, fighters sometimes utilize their full five minutes to recuperate from the ball shot.
