Pat Healy vs. Jamie Varner set for UFC on FOX 9 in Sacramento
Today, UFC officials announced that a lightweight bout between Pat Healy (31-16 MMA, 0-2 UFC) and Jamie Varner (21-8-1 MMA, 3-3 UFC) is the latest addition to December’s already stacked ‘UFC on FOX 9’ card.

Pat “Bam Bam” Healy was most recently seen in action at last month’s UFC 165 event, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to rising star Khabib Nurmagomedov. Prior to that, Healy submitted Jim Miller at UFC 159. However, that fight was later ruled a no-contest, after Healy tested positive for marijuana.
Meanwhile, the former WEC lightweight champion, Jamie Varner, will be looking to bounce back in to the win column, following the split-decision loss he suffered to Gleison Tibau at August’s UFC 164 event in Milwaukee. Prior to the Tibau bout, Varner defeated Melvin Guillard via split-decision at UFC 155.
UFC on FOX 9 takes place on December 14 live from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. The event is headlined by a lightweight title fight featuring current UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis taking on former Strikeforce champion, Josh Thomson.
