Pettis Denies Aldo Coaches Claims Of Fake Injury To Avoid Title Fight
Over the weekend Nova Uniao founder and Jose Aldo head coach, Andre Pederneiras, went on a Brazilian radio show and pretty much dissed top UFC lightweight contender, Anthony Pettis, for backing out of what should have been the main event last weekend.
“In my opinion, [Pettis] never got hurt,” Pederneiras stated. “He realized he’d never make weight (at 145 pounds), that it wasn’t as easy as he thought it would be.”
To this conspiracy theory, Pettis responded through his jiu-jitsu coach Diego Moraes.
“It’s stupid of him to say something like that. It was a dream fight for me. My injury was real and the UFC took me from the fight. I hope to win my next fight and fight Aldo at 145 pounds.”
