Pettis Suffers Orbital Bone Fracture In Title Loss
Former UFC lightweight champion, Anthony “Showtime” Pettis not only lost his title last Saturday, but he also lost his ability to return to action ASAP.
According to the Pettis camp, an initial blow from dos Anjos, early in the first round, actually caused a facial fracture that rendered the former champion unable to see for the duration of the bout.
UFC Tonight confirmed the news during Wednesday’s broadcast:
“Pettis did break his orbital bone,” the show reported. “He couldn’t leave Dallas until yesterday. He’s out for six weeks, but he’s anxious to get back in there as soon as possible.”
