Phil Davis is gearing up for his UFC 179 co-main event bout against Glover Teixeira in just under two weeks.

The bout will take place in Brazil, something Davis is familiar, and comfortable with.

The Brazilian crowd is widely considered to be one of the rowdiest crowds in MMA, second only to the Irish fans. Non-Brazilian fighters fighting in Brazil generally have a hard time dealing with the pressure, but not ‘Mr. Wonderful’, who has defeated Wagner Prado, and former champion Lyoto Machida in Brazil.

He spoke to MMAFighting.com about the possibility of himself becoming the next ‘Brazilian Killer’.

“I always perform well when I’m in Rio. I hope this is not my last time in Brazil. I love Brazil, I love Rio. The long travel doesn’t really bother me.”

“I’m not gonna call myself the Brazilian Killer…but if somebody wants to name me the Brazilian Killer, you’re more than welcome.”

For those unfamiliar with the nickname, Alex Stiebling was the original ‘Brazilian Killer’. He defeated 6 Brazilians in a row in Brazil, but had his streak snapped by a certain legend, Anderson Silva in 2002.
