PPV Buys for “Mayweather vs. Pacquiao” Could Soar Past 4 Million
Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio duked it out in the biggest boxing fight of the decade this past Saturday. Whether fans were happy with the outcome or upset with the lack of action, it will go down in the history books as the biggest pay-per-view boxing event of all time.
Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports is predicting that the pay-per-view buyrate will soar past 4 million buys! Iole states, “Trends, though, are extremely high and it will obliterate the record of 2.48 million. That was set in 2007, when Mayweather defeated Oscar De La Hoya at the MGM Grand.” He continued, “Buys for Mayweather’s victory over Pacquiao on Saturday will soar past 4 million.”
If this holds true, it shatter all records and may open the eyes of Mayweather and Pacquiao to make their rematch a reality. Would you buy the rematch on pay-per-view?
