Rampage Puts Division On Notice: “I’m Ready To Fight The Best Fighters”
Former UFC champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has spoken briefly about his return to the UFC, but has recently opened up about his return, and why he went on a three fight losing streak before his departure from the UFC.
Rampage plans to take the division by storm when he returns, despite having nearly 50 professional fights, and being 36 years old.
He spoke to MMAJunkie.
“I fought Glover Teixeira injured, I fought Ryan Bader injured, and when I’m healthy, it’s different. My last couple fights I didn’t have any injuries. I got to sit back and fix my injuries and wasn’t forced to fight. Things have changed since then.
“There’s a lot of things that go through your head after you have a professional fight and you lose. Sometimes you feel down and you say something you don’t mean. Emotions run through you.”
“I’m ready to fight the best fighters and I don’t care who they are, as long as people want to come and do good fights. I’m tired of fighting guys who want to stretch out a boring win with these stupid, lame game plans. Those are the guys that are poisonous to our sport.
“People are stuck on winning and losing, that’s an American mentality. I’m over it. I don’t need to think the way everyone else does. I just want to come and focus on what made me popular – giving exciting fights. The fans love me, so the UFC brought me back.”
Who do you want to see Rampage fight when he returns to the Octagon?
