Ratings Report: ‘UFC Fight Night 50: Jacare vs. Mousasi’ Peaked At 1Million Viewers
A dominating one-sided headliner that saw No. 4-ranked UFC middleweight Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza lock in a third-round guillotine choke submission of the No. 7-ranked Gegard Mousasi at UFC FIGHT NIGHT: JACARE vs. MOUSASI, delivered a peak audience of 1,068,000 total viewers from 11:30-11:45pm on Friday, Sept. 5, according to Nielsen. The main card (10:00 PM ET – 11:58 PM ET) posted a .73 household rating, averaging 911,000 total viewers, up 12% compared to the average of the prior 18 UFC FIGHT NIGHTS on FOX Sports 1 (814,000 viewers). Among viewers A18-49, Friday’s main card saw an increase of 17% compared to the average of the 18 other UFC FIGHT NIGHTS (589,000 vs. 504,000 viewers).
For the whole evening (7:00 PM ET – 12:00 AM ET), FOX Sports 1 averaged 654,000 total viewers and 405,000 in the A18-49 demo.
The fights had a halo effect on FOX Sports 1’s news programming as well. After the fights, FOX SPORTS LIVE averaged 299,000 total viewers and 202,000 viewers in the A18-49 demo from 11:58 PM ET – 1:00 AM ET, a 156% and 193% increase respectively over its average in those times during September 2013.
