Report: Following Latest Loss Koch Likely Headed To Lightweight
Top UFC featherweight and Duke Roufus trained fighter, Erik Koch, is reportedly considering a shift in weight class following his UFC 164 defeat at the hands of Dustin Poirier.
The highly regarded fighter opened up his MMA career on a massive unbeaten streak before running into division powerhouse Chad Mendes under the WEC Banner.
Koch rebounded from that defeat with four-straight wins and once again lost when faced with the top-tier in the featherweight division.
After dropping his last two-fights to Ricardo Lamas and the aforementioned Dustin Poirier, ESPN received word that he may try his hands in the division currently ruled over by his teammate, Anthony Pettis.
Here’s the proof:
Spoke w/ @dukeroufus on GPB. No update on Showtime yet. However he made some news. Erik Koch is likely moving to 155 and Chico Camus to 125.
