Report: Max Holloway vs. Jeremy Stephens set for UFC 194
A key featherweight battle between surging contenders Max Holloway and Jeremy Stephens will take place at UFC 194.
FOX Sports was first to report the news stating that both fighters, Holloway and Stephens, had verbally agreed to fight on December 12.
Max “Blessed” Holloway (14-3 MMA) was most recently seen in action at last month’s UFC Fight Night event in Saskatoon, where he earned a bizarre first-round TKO victory over Charles Oliveira, this after “Da Bronx” suffered an esophagus injury. The win served as Holloway’s seventh-straight victory, with his last loss coming to current interim UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor in August of 2013.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Stephens (24-11 MMA) will be looking to build off his spectacular knockout win over Dennis Bermudez, which took place at July’s UFC 189 event in Las Vegas. “Lil Heathen” has gone 4-2 over his past six fights, suffering losses to Cab Swanson and the aforementioned Charles Oliveira in that time.
UFC 194 takes place December 12 live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The event is headlined by a featherweight title unification bout featuring interim title holder Conor McGregor taking on longtime champion Jose Aldo.
