Report: Mike Pierce vs. Rousimar Palhares In The Works
According to reports coming out of Brazil, Mike Pierce is likely going to be welcoming Rousimar Palhares to the UFC’s welterweight division on October 9.
October 9 is the date for UFC Fight Night 29 which is set to go down on Fox Sports 1 from the Jose Correa Gymnasium in Barueri, Brazil.
Mike Pierce is currently riding a four-fight win streak inside the UFC’s 170 pound division. Since signing with the UFC he has gone an impressive 9-3 with his only losses coming way of decision to Jon Fitch, Josh Koscheck and Johny Hendricks.
Rousimar will look to make his welterweight debut after a long tenure with the promotion as a middleweight fighter. The Brazilian leg-locking wizard has been with the promotion since 2008, however he has dropped his last two fights, the most recent of which was to Hector Lombard, and will hope to keep his place on the roster with the drop in weight-class and a win over Pierce.
UFC officials have yet to announce this bout.
