Report: UFC 190’s The Biggest Event Since 2013, Tops 900,000 PPV Buys

Bethe Correia vs. Ronda Rousey

UFC 190, which saw a main event between UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and Brazilian Beth Correia, looks to be the biggest PPV event for the UFC, sine 2013, when Chris Weidman took on Anderson Silva for the second time.

According to Dave Meltzer, via MMAFighting, the event is estimated to have brought in over 900,000 PPV buys. Those are the biggest numbers for a PPV UFC event since UFC 168, which took place Dec. 28, 2013.

The success of the card is largely a surprise, seeing as how it followed UFC 189, which was built up to be the greatest event ever, and the fact that outside of the main event, it didn’t have that great of a card as far as star power goes.

The Correia/Rousey trash talk certainly helped, with Rousey insisting that the fight was personal and she was going to make Correia pay for her suicide comments.

This would make it now three shows this year that have topped 800,000 PPV buys for the UFC. I guess

What do you think was the main reason UFC 190 did so well?
