Ronda Rousey Teaches Armbars, Thinks Kobe Bryant Should Retire… Ouch!

On Wednesday, UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey made history and was the first female athlete ever to co-host ESPN’s SportsCenter.
Overall it seemed like Rousey did a pretty good job, aside from a few awkward moments, like the one above. Rousey apparently decided not to do a demonstration of her armbar, so instead anchor Lindsay Czarniak took to the mats and attempted to submit poor MLB analyst Tim Kurkjian, who clearly had no idea what was going on. It was pretty funny, but slightly strange.
Then there’s the quote everyone is talking about, where Rousey was asked about Kobe Bryant and she said that he should possibly think about stepping away from basketball.
“I think if you’re wondering whether or not you should play, that’s the time that you should kind of think about stepping away. Every single time I pull up to the gym, I park and I run from my car into the door of the gym, because I’m so excited to be there. If you’re wondering whether or not you should be there, it’s getting to be about that time.”
