Ronda Rousey wants some privacy!
Media was buzzing after a UFC 193 media call last month when UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey reportedly hung up after the media brought up her relationship with UFC heavyweight Travis Browne.
The relationship almost seems to be a sore subject with Rousey, as she was questioned about the phone call incident on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s fight featuring the champion and contender Holly Holm.
“Next question,” Rousey interjected before the reporter could finish the question.
It seems as if Rousey is actually human, and just wants some privacy to certain parts of her life as she explained in a report by MMAJunkie.
“I think that my private life is private, and I share a lot and give a lot,” she told MMAjunkie. “Sometimes it’s like I’m playing the ‘give a mouse a cookie’ game, where it’s like I’m trying to share and try to be open, but I also want to keep a few things to myself in secret.
“I would feel uncomfortable asking them about (their relationship). That’s a stranger. I don’t know you. I would feel uncomfortable asking you about that – why would you feel comfortable asking me about that?”
Of course the media’s job is to do just that, and Ronda understands her position as one of the biggest names in the sport, but let everyone know what she is focused on telling the media, “I’ve got a fight to sell and I’m concentrating on what’s important.”
However, reporters finally got the cookie they asked for at the end of the exchange, with Rousey saying, “My phone died,” before looking away for the next fight related question.
