Rosholt on Struve: ‘The taller guys are the easiest ones to get a hold of’

UFC heavyweight Jared Rosholt faces the seven foot tall Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve at UFC 193 this weekend in Melbourne, Australia. Rosholt looks at the opportunity to take out Struve, who has made a name for himself in the UFC.

Talking with MMA Junkie, Rosholt who is 6-foot-2, says that once he gets inside of Stuve’s reach, he will find his success. “I think there’s a very fine line to where he dictates (range), and that’s right at the end of his length,” said. “Inside of that fine line, I believe it will be all me.”

Rosholt says that his background in wrestling tells him that being a taller opponent does not bring any benefit in his discipline of MMA. “When somebody’s that tall, and it’s been like that ever since I can remember in wrestling, the taller guys are easiest to get a hold of. I think there’s a lot of advantages for me.”

Rosholt’s wrestling is sharp, and he says that once his striking gets to the level he wants it to be at, people are going to notice. Until then, it looks like Rosholt will use his wrestling to beat up his opponents and look to improve on his 5-1 UFC record.

How do you see the fight between Struve and Rosholt playing out? Will Struve’s reach win the fight? Or will Rosholt be able to get past that and take the fight where he wants? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
