Ryan LaFlare Wins PNG

UFC Fight Night 62 is set to take place this coming Saturday, March 21, in Brazil. Back when the card was announced it featured a fight between Urijah Faber and Raphael Assunção and other fighters like Matt Wiman, Josh Thomson and Ben Saunders.

Since then all of those names have left the card due to injury, or in Faber’s case, moved to another card. The event will now be headlined by a welterweight fight between Demian Maia and Ryan LaFlare.

LaFlare, who recently spoke on The MMA Hourwants the fans to know that they should still tune in and tells them why.

“These cards that they say are going to be weak are usually the best ones.  I think it’s a highly competitive card. You’ve got me and Demian. No one really knows me yet, so wouldn’t they want to watch and, you know, see what I’m about? They know who Demian Maia is. They want to see what Ryan LaFlare’s got.

“Obviously they made me main event, the UFC believes in me, so give me a shot. Plus we’ve got Gilbert ‘Durinho’, world champion in jiu-jitsu. I don’t know why they wouldn’t want to see him too, so I don’t know. It’s kind of one of those wait and see. If you’re not watching it then you’re missing out.”

Will you guys be tuning in?
