‘Scoring For Pro Boxing Confuses Me, I Thought Pacquiao Won’
This past Saturday, the fight that was hyped as the biggest fight of the decade took place between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. While the hype will likely hold true due to pay-per-view-sales, the same can’t be said about how exciting the fight was.
Manny Pacquiao fought as the aggressor for the majority of the bout, but Mayweather utilized his defense as his offense and coasted to a unanimous decision victory. Even though he said he was going to sleep through the bout, Sonnen apparently stayed awake and scored the fight in favor of “Pac-Man”.
Sonnen went on to claim that he understands amateur boxing scoring, but is confused by how judges score professional boxing. Who do you think won the match? Was the right decision made?
I'm a good judge of amateur boxing, but the scoring for the Pros has always confused me. I thought Pac won. https://t.co/V2Ulbmfzf4
