Scott Jorgensen’s Appeal Is Denied By Brazilian Commission
At UFC Fight Night 38 in Natal, Brazil, Scott Jorgensen lost to Jussier Formiga via rear naked choke. Immediately following the fight Jorgensen was clearly upset. It was evident during the fight replay that Jorgensen was stunned by an accidental head-butt from Formiga, one that Jorgensen believed ultimately led to his submission lost.
Jorgensen filed an appeal to the Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA (the commission in charge of that particular event). Today we have learned that Brazil’s athletic commission has denied the appeal from Jorgensen, which means that the results of the fight will stand. Here’s the statement from Jorgensen’s management, MMA Inc., via their Twitter account.
CABMMA has denied @Scottjorgensen appeal. Won’t supplant it’s judgment for a non-call in the cage. @arielhelwani @LarryPepe @jeremybotter

Regardless of outcome of CABMMA appeal, we hope @ufc will give @Scottjorgensen a rematch.
