Shields Out To Prove Dana White Wrong: ‘I’ve already beaten the UFC’s champ’
“He’s going to try and break (your leg) and that’s something I’m aware of. So he’s a dirty fighter. So when you fight someone like this, you have to get the mindset back that he’s going to try and hurt me, so I’m going to try and hurt him.”
“Anything is possible. So to say I’m not going to worry about it, it’s possible. That would be stupid of me, but I’m not particularly worried. I have great leg locks myself. I would love to go out there and to try to leg lock him back. Usually he goes in there with guys that don’t know what they’re doing, so he’s playing someone that can’t attack him back.”
“I’ve beaten the current UFC champ and I think I’m on an upswing and not a downswing. So it would be kinda nice to go out there and take the title just to prove Dana wrong. Nothing personal against Dana, but it’s always nice proving people wrong.”
In a new interview with Submission Radio (Above) Jake Shields dives into his upcoming title fight against WSOF champ Rousimar Palhares, and what he hopes to accomplish in victory.
