Sonnen To UFC — ‘Either Cut Jones Or Shut Up’

“Taking away his belt was one of the options on the table, but I don’t think it was well thought through. What will they do to Jon Jones now? Put him on preliminary cards? It’s weird. You either cut the guy completely or shut up”.

The UFC Light Heavyweight Championship is being held in abeyance after the suspension of Jon “Bones” Jones. Chael Sonnen called the fact that the bout between Jones and Johnson wouldn’t happen at UFC 187 and has an added opinion on his punishment in a recent interview with Tatame.

Sonnen is confused as to how Jones will eventually return to the octagon. Will Jones have to work his way back up the ladder or will his prior accomplishments catapult him to another championship match? Sonnen went on to say that he thought they should have cut Jones or not do anything at all.
