Al Iaquinta : ‘I Want To Slam My Head On The Desk’
UFC lightweight Al Iaquinta has now gone from fighting Bobby Green, to fighting Gilbert Melendez, to now fighting no one.
Yesterday news surfaced that Melendez had failed a drug test from UFC 188 and will be suspended for a year. The UFC pulled him from his fight with Iaquinta scheduled for July 15 and now Iaquinta has been completely scratched from the card.
Iaquinta was scheduled to fight Bobby Green, who pulled out with an injury. Melendez, coming off of a tough and controversial loss to Eddie Alvarez, stepped in on short notice to take on Raging Al.
Yesterday, Iaquinta talked on The MMA Hour about the situation and his frustration.
“I don’t know what I want to do. I want to break something. I want to slam my head on the desk again. I don’t know. I’m just disappointed. I can’t describe it, man.
“I was ready to go. It was a perfect fight for me stylistically. I brought in guys who really had a good style and I’ve been doing great with the sparring, so it’s just, I don’t know, I’m just frustrated right now, man. I’m real frustrated.”
Sounds like he’s taking it pretty hard.
