Stipe Miocic booked to return at UFC 195!

By Chris Taylor - October 21, 2015

UFC heavyweight contender Stipe Miocic (13-2 MMA) was expected to face “Big” Ben Rothwell in the co-main event of this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 76 card in Dublin, Ireland.

Unfortunately for fight fans, Miocic suffered an injury in training and was forced to pull out of the highly anticipated heavyweight tilt.

Apparently the injury suffered by Miocic was not serious, as the heavyweight contender has already picked up his next assignment from UFC officials.

Stipe Miocic will face former heavyweight title holder Andrei Arlovski (25-10 MMA) at January’s UFC 195 event in Las Vegas.

The Los Angeles Times was first to report the news.

Stipe Miocic has won four of his past five bouts, his most recent being a fifth-round TKO victory over knockout artist Mark Hunt.

Meanwhile, Andrei Arlovski is currently riding a six-fight win streak, which includes four victories under the UFC banner. The former title holder recently earned a decision victory over Frank Mir at September’s UFC 191 event.

UFC 195 takes place January 2 live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a welterweight title fight featuring champ Robbie Lawler taking on the always dangerous Carlos Condit.
