“Suga” Says No Sweet Deals Made To Blackzilian Fighters
The rivalry between Blackzilians and American Top Team is heating up on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and that’s because of two reasons: Owners Dan Lambert and Glenn Robinson.
ATT owner Dan Lambert has accused Glenn Robinson of essentially stealing talent from his gym to create a super-gym with the Blackzilians. Of course, Robinson denies this and states that he never paid anybody. While on MMA Junkie Radio, Blackzilian athlete Rashad Evans backed up Robinson’s claims.
“There was no signing bonus at all… I never received any money and I don’t know anybody else who has received any money. Glenn is the type of guy who makes sure that his fighters – that they’re not in a situation where they have to worry about money.”
Evans went on to state that Robinson has put his fighters in hotels in the past and has also helped them get on their feet while they move down there. However, Evans mentions Lambert has done that as well. “If paying for a fighter means, ‘Yeah, I’m going to put you up in this hotel.’ Or, ‘I’ll put you up in this apartment and help you get on your feet and you go from there,’ he has done that. But (ATT co-founder) Dan Lambert has done that as well.”
Rashad Evans is currently sidelined with an injury that will keep him on the shelf until October. He can be seen on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ every Wednesday night helping his Blackzilian teammates.
