Thomas Almeida responds to John Dodson’s callout

Following his ‘UFC Fight Night: Belfort vs. Henderson 3’ knockout win over Anthony Birchak, Thomas Almeida found himself being called out by top ranked flyweight John Dodson, who is looking to go up to bantamweight.

Almeida spoke to MMAFighting to discuss why he would rather fight Urijah Faber than Dodson.

“(Dodson) is a great athlete, I admire him a lot, he has beaten great names in both divisions, bantamweight and below. I’m an employee and I don’t pick fights. Whoever the UFC wants, I’ll do my best to win.”

“Every fight is interesting, especially now at the top of the division. It’s a challenge. But I believe Faber would be a better fight for me career-wise.”
