Tough Guy Tuesday: Jordin Tootoo
In today’s segment of “Tough Guy Tuesday” we feature National Hockey League enforcer Jordin Tootoo.
Jordin Tootoo, who is of Inuit and Ukrainian descent, became both the first Inuk player and the first player to grow up in Nunavut to ever participate in an National Hockey League game when he suited up for the Nashville Predators in 2003.
The 5-foot 7-inch tall right winger is as tough as they come and has made a career out of being one of the NHL’s best ‘agitators’.
The 32-year-old, who currently plays for the New Jersey Devils, is well known for his willingness to take on all comers, regardless of their size.
In his 607 career NHL games, Tootoo has compiled 880 total penalty minutes.
Jordin’s best campaign occurred during the 2011-2012 season with the Nashville Predators, where he tallied 6 goals and 24 assists in 77 games played.
The “Tootoo-Train” is still rolling for the Devils, and you can see Jordin play tonight when New Jersey travels to Calgary to battle the Flames at 9pm eastern time.
Check out this awesome video which showcases some of Tootoo’s best scraps during his time with the Nashville Predators.
