TUF’s Artem Lobov calls out Faber: ‘He’s 5 minutes away from a retirement home’

By Russell Ess - November 12, 2015

Artem Lobov, member of Team McGregor on TUF 22 still simply does not like Team Alpha Male. Lobov was a highlight of this week’s episode, knocking out Team Faber’s James Jenkins after being given a second chance by Dana White.

Before his fight with Jenkins, Lobov offered a challenge to Team Faber assistant coach and UFC featherweight Andre Fili and gave his reasoning on the TUF Talk podcast (transcribed by Fox Sports):

“The reason I even called Fili out was because when we had that scuffle with Team Faber, what they don’t show you on the show, their guys and Fili especially, were screaming at our guys ‘come outside now and we’ll settle it right here and now.’ Obviously, we’re in the house and we don’t even have a UFC contract so I just felt that was a little big disrespectful,” Lobov revealed on the latest TUF Talk podcast

“You wanted to fight us, so after the show let’s do it.”

When talking about his grudge with Fili, Lobov turned his attention towards opposing head coach Urijah Faber and had some unforgiving words for the “California Kid.”

“Being honest, thinking about it now I’d rather fight Faber first just because he’s about five minutes away from a retirement home and just before he retires I’d love to give him a kick up the arse and send him a farewell,” Lobov said. “That would be a good fight for me I think.”

What do you think of a future matchup between Faber and Lobov? Is Lobov simply trying to build his name calling out Faber who has an established name in the sport? Let us know how you see a fight unfolding in the comment section!
