UFC 188 Bonus Report: Werdum earns an extra 50k for his upset win over Velasquez
Tonight’s UFC 188 pay-per-view event in Mexico City produced some memorable fights and thrilling finishes.

Four UFC fighters walked away from the event with bonuses, as Patrick Williams, Fabricio Werdum, Yair Rodriguez and Charles Rosa all pocketed and extra $50,000 for their respective efforts.
Fight of the night: Rosa vs Rodriguez
Yair Rodriguez showcased some crafty striking and excellent takedown defense to earn a split-decision victory over a very game and tough Charles Rosa. The fight was full of non-stop action and had the 21,036 Mexican fans in attendance going wild.
Performance of the night: Patrick Williams
Patrick Williams earned a 50k performance bonus for his 23-second destruction of Alejandro Perez. Williams was able to catch Perez with a couple of punches early, which caused Perez to wobble in retreat and Williams jumped on him securing the guillotine choke for the quick finish.
Performance of the night: Fabricio Werdum
Fabricio Werdum not only became the undisputed baddest man on the planet this evening, he also took home a $50,000 performance bonus for his third-round submission victory over Cain Velasquez. Werdum battered Cain in the stand-up game for the first ten minutes of the fight, forcing Velasquez to eventually go for a takedown in round 3, which ultimately led to his undoing. Werdum quickly latched on to Cain’s exposed neck during the attempted takedown and seconds later a trapped Velasquez was forced to tap out.
