A welterweight bout between Brandon Thatch (11-2 MMA) and John Howard (22-11 MMA) is the latest addition to July’s UFC 189 card in Las Vegas.

Brandon Thatch was last seen in action at February’s UFC Fight Night event in Colorado, where he suffered a fourth-round submission loss to former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson. The loss snapped Thatch’s impressive 10-fight win streak.

Meanwhile, John “Doomsday” Howard will likely be fighting for his job when he faces Thatch this July in Sin City. Howard has dropped three-straight fights, his most recent being a first-round TKO loss to Lorenz Larkin in January.

UFC 189 takes place July 11 live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The event is headlined by a featherweight title fight featuring current champion Jose Aldo defending his strap against “The Notorious” Conor McGregor.
