Chad Mendes stepped in on short notice to save the main-event of “UFC 189” and was rewarded handsomely for doing so. Conor McGregor was able to put away Mendes in less than ten minutes, but it wasn’t with ease. McGregor was cut open and was taken down several times before finishing Mendes with strikes in the second.

Rory MacDonald and Robbie Lawler put on an absolute war in the co main-event of the evening that saw both fighter’s faces mauled when all was said and done. While Lawler walked out with the gold, MacDonald showed that he truly is one of the toughest men in the UFC.
